Ford planned to make 80,000 units in MY22 (publicly announced)
Thanks! That's exactly the information I've been looking for.

Where did they announce that? I've searched but I can't find it anywhere. I must not be doing it right. Thanks...

So, you have 6500 sold and 7800 produced. What’s with the 1300? Does that go to Dealers.

Auto news reported 110k per year maverick last summer, based upon supplier orders direct from ford

here’s a link where you don’t need to be a member.

This article is misquoted and was written before or right around when orders opened. The article said Ford told supplies to prepare for 110k vehicles. In no way does that translate to what was actually ordered.

Straight from the article:
" Automotive News reports that Ford told suppliers to prepare for an annual volume of 110,000 vehicles. "

I didn’t say that’s what was ordered. The guy asked how many ford planned to build. That’s the answer.

Thanks to both of you. But it sounds like we're still a bit in the dark on this.

@Maverstang says Ford publicly announced 80,000, but I'm still waiting for him/her to get back to me with an actual source for that.

@Dun4791 says 110,000, but the source for that is second-hand (" Suppliers have been told to prepare for annual volumes of 110,000, according to a person with knowledge of the plans.")

Do you have the production numbers for each month of 2021 since orders began? Would be interesting to compare actual orders per month with production per month ;)

*1 - Pre-Production units not for sale (Aug may include some of these as well).
*2 - Ford's estimated planned builds 60% hybrid/40% EB. - Hopefully they get closer to January's numbers (or even Oct's)

There were never 100,000 orders. Reservations are not orders. I had four reservations but only one order.
Oh you were one of those messing with the system. I heard that if You were making that many reservations then you were screwing with how many orders the dealer would get. As in more reservation to actual orders would mess with the allocation

I think they're referencing JD Power on 2/24/22 saying that they expect Ford to sell at least 80,000 Mavericks in the us THIS YEAR. I don't think they mean this MY. Could be wrong. Yeah, I found the production numbers, but I could only find the "sales" numbers back to October. In looking at the sales numbers, they must only report "closed" sales, and NOT what has been ordered. That would be the magic number to chew on ;) Total production thru Jan is 33,722, so it would be nice to know how many "orders" have been submitted but not built yet. Lots of speculation on order numbers.

I can't tell for sure from the article if they mean calendar year or model year. But I agree that it kind of sounds like calendar year, which wouldn't help much on the MY 2022 reservation vs. order vs. production question.

But neither source is an announcement by Ford -- just analyst predictions -- so they may not be what @Maverstang was talking about. He specifically said it was an announcement by Ford but hasn't gotten back to us on his source.

There would be no sales prior to Oct. If you look at the Oct sales report, you can see YTD is the same as Oct. You are correct that "ordered" units are not reported as it's not "sold" until it's sold. Lots of ordered and delivered units were turned down by the original orderer (But I think most were sold within a few days, even those with massive Market Adjustments attached). It would be nice if Ford gave us at least a ball park number of how many Mavs are in the order back awaiting build dates, and even nicer if they gave us a breakdown of Trim and Package numbers. My guess is there is north of 50,000.

Got an email that my hybrid was in production on 1/3. Never listed as complete or shipped. When I check the link It was updated to deliver on 2/20, then 2/10. Called dealer to check and they have no updates since the 1/3 production start… looks like Fords customer tracking site might be missing a few of those scarce chips. It’s terrible.
