Is Fairway Ford local to you so you can just pick it up?

When I add the drop-in liner to my cart, it says shipping is $14.95. I have a hard time believing they can ship that large of an item for that price. If that's really the case, I'll likely order one from them as well.
I don’t know how they do it. Fairway is awesome had 4 items arrive to NJ. Shipping was $14 FedEx and it came in 2-3 days of ordering it. Not sure how they keep shipping low but Nate and Fairway are great and whatever they quote on shipping will stay.

Is it difficult to redeem points? Do you have to find a dealer who is willing?

So I looked into this a while ago, but with a lot of credit cards offering $500+ sign up bonuses after you spend $4000-$6000 in the first 6 months I just did not see the value in the ford card. The ford card is definitely not bad and has some useful perks, but there are better deals out there.

I also have the Ford card too. This is effectively 3.3 (correction 3.8) percent minimum value back on the first 6,000 in purchases. I really like the card. I have a bunch of category cards that get 5 percent but use this one when nothing else fits. I also have used it for a few ford accessories and of course my down payment.

edit - I didn’t even include the bonuses. The 3.8 percent is the minimum annual percent back if you hit 6,000 each year. Fantastic card!
Is there an annual fee for this card?

Where are you seeing the ones offering $500+ sign up bonuses?

The ones I am seeing are $200 or less.

For mail order you do have to find ones who will take the points.

FairwayFordParts.net is one that does. It also helps that they offer discount prices and charge no sales tax. You will have to pay for shipping but it is very reasonable.

Call 330-533-3673 ext 1438 or ask for Nate in Parts

Local Ford dealerships will take the points if they participate. Call them to find out if they do.

Chase sapphire is probably the most common. 60k points ends up being $505 statement credit after $95 fee.

Smart! Let your spending work for you. I started doing this many years ago using a cash back CC for every single purchase. Requires discipline to pay off the balance every month. Definitely do not want to pay interest charges. Year after year I cash in over $800 +. Purchased a Bronco Sport back in Sept and learned about the Ford Points. Got 42,000 points which is $210.00. Signed up for the Ford Visa CC. In 4 months have already earned a $300 statement credit and up to $71,000 points now. Looking forward to getting new toys for when my Maverick arrives.
I too learned this lesson early in our marriage. I joked that my wife and I came into the marriage with equal debt which we did.

We worked in getting all that debt paid off within 5 years and then only carried one auto loan and our mortgage. The next four years we paid off the auto loan and mortgage and have been debt free since then.

All of our vehicles have been paid for in full with cash. The exception was the Maverick because Ford is offering 0% for 36 months. Keeping the cash over those 36 months will net us $184.

Learning that debt is bad (you end up paying for things you no longer have) and free money is good I have been using the rebates and free bonuses that the Credit Card companies offer all the while paying no interest or annual fees.

So far we have earned $14,890 in cash rebates along with $3,543 in Ford Mastercard rebates that we used in purchasing the wifes 1994 Ford Taurus ($700) and my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab ($2843).

The last four years we earned $1066 (2021), $980 (2020), $917 (2019) and $1350 (2018) in rebates.

Okay I see why I don't get these type of cards. These are travel reward cards.

I don't use or need travel cards. The one time I did sign up for one I ended up taking trips I didn't need just to use the credit and the trip ended up costing a whole lot more than we wanted to spend.

For those who want to or have to travel a lot it probably good for them but not for us.

Oh thats just an example, there are a few others with similar sign up bonuses, but they change the signup bonus pretty frequently.

Did the dealer charge you a fee for using your credit card for the down payment? I ask as in the past when purchasing vehicles in both Illinois & Wisconsin, the dealers have said I need to pay a service fee of 1~2.5% (can't remember the exact percentage).

Or perhaps since its a Ford CC, Ford is not allowing dealers to charge such a fee.

I plan on getting a Ford CC when I know my Hybrid is headed to production.
Some dealers like mine allow for 5k on any card, some times more if I’m not mistaken(before they get charged back)

If you will use the Ford points anyway it has tremendous value post all the bonuses. For people like me who have burned through a lot of sign up bonuses over the last few years I need cards to just keep. The $200 statement credit is an annual recurring bonus if you spend $6,000 in the year. That is 3.3 cash back on the first 6,000 in purchases every single year with no category restrictions. Please tell me a card that does that? On top of that you get 1-10 percent in points to use on Ford services or products. That is a minimum of $30 / 0.5 percent and max of $300 / 5 percent (of the $6,000 in purchases) in value. In all likely hood you will get over 4 percent in total value from the first $6,000 in yearly purchases with this card. If you wouldn’t be able to spend that amount yearly the card isn’t very good. On top of that if you spend 6,000 a week it probably doesn’t matter much to get 4 percent back on that small amount of money for the trouble. After you spend $6,000 in a year the card should only be used on category spending, as the value drops considerably. It is easy to track the total spent on each statement it says exactly where your at the reach the 6,000 spend requirement every month.

I did the same for my wife Explorer in Nov. Plan on another 70k when I go to the dealer tomorrow to pick up the Mav. Once I get those points added later this week will go back and use the 150k points to pay for the maintenance plan.

Those are all very good points, if you intend to/can make use of the card. I also did not realize it had a yearly $200 statement credit, that alone makes it a solid card. I may have to reconsider! I assume the points are only good for Ford stuff, or can you use them as statement credit too?
