To give an idea of what are the fees for a courtesy delivery in my area:


1. PDI - paid for by Ford
2. Courtesy delivery fee - $ 295.00
3. Full professional detailing (exterior/interior) - $ 45.00.
4. Fill gas tank - actual cost at Speedway. Currently they are at $ 2.95 per gallon.
5. Registration - assuming Massachusetts actual cost no markup.
6. Sales taxes - assuming Massachusetts actual amount due with no markup.
7. Massachusetts safety inspection sticker - $ 35.00 passenger plates or commercial plates up to 10,000 pounds. No markup.
8. Commercial vehicle upfit if required (ladder racks, etc.) $ 135.00 per service hour.

Where in Mass is gas $2.95 a gallon? It can't be near me , if I don't plan ahead and need gas in a pinch I'm pushing $4 a gal.

It's deducted from the bottom line that you owe Tom. Let's say you purchase the Maverick for $30,000. You have to pay $1,000 deposit. At the end of the day, you owe Tom $29,000 because he already has $1,000. Make sense? The only other explanation would be if he takes a check and tears it up.

I just scheduled a CD for my order with Tom and Steve. Steve said they will ask for the deposit when the order is scheduled for production. The deposit gets applied against the purchase price when you buy it.

Where in Mass is gas $2.95 a gallon? It can't be near me , if I don't plan ahead and need gas in a pinch I'm pushing $4 a gal.

Thanks for the info Sgtlip. I was at my local dealer Jarrett Gordon Ford in Winter Haven yesterday to see if they will accept a CD but the people I need to talk to are on vacation.

I will check with them again this week to find out. Like you I don’t need it cleaned inside or out because I can do that myself which should save me money and time on their end.

If they wont do a CD or if I can’t find a dealer who will do one in my area I might call the dealer you mentioned.

I live in West Point, Ga. gas is $2.80 but 5 minutes from me in Lanet, Al. and gas is only $2.71. You can guess where I buy my gas.

You are about an hour and a half south of my permanent residence and less from school (UWG) but I can’t justify crossing the AL line for gas unless I’m headed to UAB for medical visits. But it’s like when I’m in Augusta, North Augusta is just a sign change and crossing the river so I feel you.

While we have you online, can you explain the rest of the drop ship process?

Specifically what exactly will the Drop Ship Dealer do? I see there is a fuel charge. Will they do the PDI? Who does the ream of paperwork involved? What about extended warranty and maintenance, who will offer those and at what point does that get discussed? Since in my case the Florida Dealer will be doing my tag and registration for for me, your email concerning pricing states "4% under plus tax/tags and $394 PA Doc Fee" do I have to pay the PA Doc Fee since the vehicle will not enter PA?

the drop ship dealer is supposed to do the PDI…they clean & fuel are negotiable…if you are paying cash, they can also handle your tax/tags…also something that is negotiable…you are welcome to purchase an extended warranty thru them or me…Ford price sheet changes every Oct…so most deliveries are going to be after Oct 1 if they are build mid-sept…yes, all of our paperwork charges the $394 pa doc…think I got everything

I spoke with Jeff at Port Richey Ford yesterday and he pretty much confirmed what you've stated concerning responsibilities. The only thing he mentioned was he would prefer you handle the taxes. He said he doesn't have anything to connect the taxes to since you are doing the sale along with all the paperwork. You may need to discuss it with him.
