I'm about 3 weeks into my 2025 AWD XLT Hybrid and have had hit-and-miss mileage. I'm sure the outside temperature is a factor.

I replaced my 2024 Lariat hybrid, not by choice, and I noticed that the mileage on the Lariat was excellent. Having played with the new XLT, I think the lack of ACC on the XLT plays a huge factor in the overall mileage. Has anyone seen any documentation to compare the mileage between ACC-equipped vehicles and standard cruise models?

My wife has a 24 lariat hybrid and I have a 25 lariat hybrid AWD with 4k tow. The 24 gets about 44 mpg summer time the 25 about 40mpg. Now that it’s colder weather that mpg has dropped about 4mpg each

Makes sense the AWD would be about 10 percent less. Good info.

You mention 50% city, but you don't mention how fast you go on the highway, whether you drive aggressively, are you climbing mountains, what the outside temperatures are, is the defrost on constantly, or how much heat you are stealing to warm the cab. Its impossible to tell if there is something wrong or its just you.

@neilfcars posted once (this thread) and it looks like he has not been back to update if he is getting better MPG's....was hopeful for an update. Last time here was Nov 25th 2025.
Ford Maverick Terrible gas mileage! 1769010475238-tq

I am currently sitting at 7.5K miles and I get an average right now of 35-37 in stone cold wintertime Central NY with my dedicated snows on and with an average remote start warm up time of 5-7 minutes....I am beyond pleased with this little hybrid AWD 4K tow Lariat....

My Ecoboost mpg’s increased big time After I got it on full synthetic and put 6,000 miles on the clock. And again after 10,000 miles.
New 24 avg mpg, now 27 mpg
New highway was 28, now 32 mpg

Your Mavbrid is waiting for you to learn to drive it. And to break in.
Patience grasshopper.

Here's mine at ~3,300 miles.

Not the greatest as two things really kill my MPG. I did some towing which averaged around 18-19 MPG and I live on a 2 mile steep hill. For comparison the car the Maverick replaced was a 2021 VW Atlas 4motion 2.0T and it got a cumulative 19-20 MPG. So the Maverick AWD Hybrid is currently doing 70% better under the same driving conditions, and I didn't even tow with the Atlas!

I think if I didn't tow with the Maverick I would be really close to the advertised EPA-estimate for an AWD Hybrid. Maybe still down 1-2 MPG for living on the hill.

Just my experience with MPG: 2022 Hybrid XLT
First 30,000 miles to date - I was consistently 43.9 mpg.
Replaced OEM Continental Tires for Michelin Defender Tires (same size) and went down to 41.9 mpg.
Tires defiantly the main cause.
Recent 30 days of 25-30 degree temperatures and mpg went down to 41.3.
Electric heater probably made significance in mpg.

Conclusion: Michelin's have far greater and deeper tread pattern and caused lost of mpg.
Winter heater is sucking 1.5 mpg of mpg.

I do a lot of long distance x-country trips - and cruise control significantly keeps my mpg better.

Come on …same diameter/width tires and you say you lost 2 miles to the gallon?? I doubt it was that. Seriously. 🙄🙄

I am hesitant to say "it's just you" because that implies that the person is doing something actually wrong or stupid. It might not be the intention. But that's how it comes across. I'd rather say it's the operating conditions, or circumstances. For example: if it's extreme cold with multiple short trips, that's not something he's doing wrong. It's just the circumstances. I do agree that more information is needed in order to properly analyze the situation though.

The new tires could be 3,4 pounds heavier.
That would do it.
Every pound of rotational mass effect equals two pounds of static mass.
Electric motors would be affected by this.

100%

The 235/55/19 Falken Wildpeak AT Trails I put on my 2025 AWD hybrid weigh 8 lbs more per tire and they have come with a 10-15% hit on fuel economy. I was at 34mpg over 11k miles and I’m now averaging 29mpg.
