Hey all,

So one of the dealers I am looking at has a Reacquired Vehicle Maverick for sale. It's a 2025 Maverick that has an MSRP of about $40K and has almost 15,000 Miles on it.

I was wondering, setting aside the risks that might come with a buyback vehicle, and assuming it's been fixed, how much would you think is a reasonable price for the vehicle?

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. No, it's listed as new and a former loaner vehicle and also has an incentive for Reacquired Vehicles from the dealer, which I am sure is a lemon buyback.

We can't help you until you share the listing and the carfax.

There are too many factors that can affect the value, and the story doesn't add up.

Why even ask?
Because you can just easily purchase a new 2024, 2025, and soon a 2026. Why bother with one that has had an issue to the point it was repurchased by the dealer?

Why would you sign up for that?

With a good enough discount, I'd be willing to take it on, especially if the warranty is really good.

Could be a good deal. Can you post a picture of the window sticker? I would like to see how the truck is optioned out. XLT, XL, Lariat? At that price most likely Lariat. The added options can be important. I think dealer may be required to tell you if it is a "lemon"??

That's what I'm trying to get from the dealer.

I think that is an important part of the equation, a Ford Premium Plus Extended Warraty, maybe a 6 year/100,000 coverage? Depending on the reason for the buyback, with no extension you'll be out of coverage in 21K.

So it’s not a buyback, it’s a used truck with 15k miles?
I have a similar truck as the one for sale Except no moonroof and those other add on’s. I paid around 35k
I guess you can get a Kelly Blue book vale and go from there.

Good advice. I called them after they didn't send me the window sticker and apparently it was unavailable. They said it wasn't a lemon buyback.

My thoughts are: a dealer can get the window sticker info, beware of shady dealers, I would want to see fords maintenance/service records on the vin #, I would want a guarantee it’s not a Ford Lemon Buyback, what defines a “reacquired” vehicle? Lastly, cover your ass especially on a used vehicle
