I parked next to a gold one of these today.
Under the hood, the Sport Trac offered one engine choice for 2001, a 4.6 liter single overhead cam V-6 that delivered 205 horsepower and 240 lb.-ft. of torque. Gas mileage wasn't anything special, with a rating of 15 mpg city, 19 mpg highway. This Ford was priced from $22,000 to $25,000.
I was to lazy too take pictures of my Maverick parked next to a gold one I found. But I did do a walk around.
I've never owned or driven this model but I have ridden in the front and back seats. I found It very Interesting and my brain started up. A Lap later I had made 128,000 comparisons.
Lots of obvious differences, then I started to see the similarities.
They got us to buy Mini vans to fit on our garages, our lives.
The Station wagon became todays SUV,
Then came the Crew Cab and garage sized trucks. Ford did it. They merged the SUV and the mini truck.
The Sport Trac was a nice ride and wouldn’t total out if hit in the rear at a low rate of speed like the Maverick.
I miss body on frame architecture.
It's like a 2 cycle dirt bike at first then an up right twin cam four, What ?
Oh, my mind.
