As it turns out, shipping an infotainment for only one vehicle in your lineup is a terrible idea from a bug and supportability perspective. I bet the $10 per unit or whatever they saved initially by not putting Sync 3 in XLs and XLTs is long gone by now.

Someone else really hates backup cameras among other things - but this on a Kia.

I wonder if ours could get to this state? - very aggravating indeed!

Along with "we didn't have backup cameras and lived to tell the tale!" while ignoring the people who did get run over that didn't live to tell the tail (AKA survivorship bias)

Unless I am missing something, Tim does not indicate what type of fix this is. Most likely software but at this point who in hell knows.
