Hi, my name is KC. I’m 34(F), I live in Northern Illinois, and I currently work at a PD.

I just bought my 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid on February 1, 2025. I was able to get the color (Atlas Blue Metallic) and package I wanted without having to order a ‘25 and wait. This was my first time buying a brand new car, and it’s been going well!

So far I haven’t done any modifications. I plan on putting on a Tonneau hard top (which is still in transit) and putting some interior lights in the footwells. I also plan on getting weathertech floorliners and changing the wheels, eventually.

Congrats on the new truck! When you say "arrives", are you meaning when the recall is lifted so you can drive it off the lot?

Waiting on my Tonneau cover to arrive, I ordered it and it’s still in transit - but I have the truck already. I love it, but the bed has a bunch of snow in it, should have ordered the cover sooner.

I was just trying to figure out how you got a 24 in Feb with the recall still active. I know some dealers will stretch the rules but most are not letting any off the lots.

PS, I love that Blue!

I’m wondering - because the car was actually produced in November. Which they might have taken care of some of the recalled stuff? The dealership also had my truck for a few days to do a ceramic coat and spray in bedliner. I wonder if they would have had time to fix any recalls then.

I did call the dealership yesterday about a wiper blade issue. My dad was able to help me with that one, there was a huge piece of ice that was stopping the blade from resting in it’s off position.

When I was talking to them they didn’t mention any current recalls. If you don’t mind, what recalls have you heard of recently? I can call the dealership and ask if that’s been issued for my truck.

Thanks for the heads up!

KC-

I have the same truck -- Same color...
I added wheels for $752 out the door at Discount Tire.. that includes lifetime rotation & balancing. I hope to recoop some of that by selling the stock wheels to someone wanting to upgrade a old F100 with 17 inch wheels..

I did purchase a roll up tonneau --open box through Amazon for $127.. and had a spray in bedliner installed for $499. I almost did it myself, but it's winter...
I installed an openbox 2024 Bronco trailer hitch...I got for $25...I had to do some drilling ans use 3/4 inch spacers..

I covered the LT fender markers with these inexpensive COWBOY Edition.. badges.. They also make COWGIRL pnes...

Great job! There’s a website my dad had gone to for his wheels (Not a Maverick). I’ll see if that’s cheaper than going to discount tire but that’s good on you for getting the lifetime balance and rotation! Good deal!

The cover I’m getting is $350 - hard top. I was warned about people cutting the soft tops. Didn’t want to risk it. I got a kind of crappy deal from the dealership on the spray in. They did an external ceramic coat, and interal spray to protect the seats from stains and waterproof them. That was $3,000 - and my dealer threw in the spray in for free. The good thing is there’s a warranty on the ceramic coat and interior protection. If I get a scratch on the seats, or chip in the paint, they’ll fix it.

Did you set up a Fordpass account on the web? If you didn't you should so you can get your points for buying a hybrid (worth about $150) and you can see if there are any open recalls on your vin. As far as I know they are not "supposed to" let any 4XL or XLT off the lot as there is a potential for the rear camera to freeze while you are backing up (mine never has). Lots of folks have put money down on trucks they can't take possession of. Apparently there are a few dealers that are letting them sneak off the lot.

I do have Fordpass, and was able to look it up and the backup camera is the only issue showing. They let me have it, without even mentioning the recall. I’m still used to my SUV without a backup camera, so I still like to look back when in reverse. As far as I know Ford is still working on a remedy for it. Haven’t experienced any freezing in my camera that I’ve noticed, hopefully they’re able to fix it soon. I would have been peeved if I put money down on it and they told me I couldn’t take it.
