Are my eyes deceiving me or are those XLT wheels on the Lariat? Those don't look like the black Lariat rims to me at all.

They’re the FX4 wheels on the Lariat, it has that package (see front tow hooks and the back sticker as well). They do look similar to the XLT wheels, but are gloss black.

That VB Lariat would look fantastic all the way blacked out, with a black grill, mirrors, maybe even the roof. I might end up becoming friends with my local wrap shop at this rate.

Derp, thanks for the assist. I've only been interested in FWD/Hybrid and keep forgetting about the extra options the Ecoboost opens up.

not the best offroad tires, but i'm sure it will be fine. can always upgrade the tires later.
